Talented young Boxer Leigh Garner looks set for the big time, but after he receives a parcel from his estranged father, his promising career looks set to be in tatters. Doctor Corder has to help him ahead of his breakthrough fight.
A good story, with some interesting characters and a pretty bleak solution. Good to see a boxing story, something that would have been deemed as the epitomy of masculinity back then, the subject of a story about mental illness, I think it was quite a bold and brave choice.
The Lovejoy fan in me was unsure if I could see Dudley Sutton as a boxer, fondly remembered for playing Tinker, I think he showed here just what a good actor he was.
Not sure I liked some of the music, at times it feels a little bit jolly, however it's very well filmed and shot, it had the authenticity that the show has done so well with since the off.
Another thought provoking, original episode.
7/10.
