Good characters but the story just did not flow

Klink has an old friend, General Hans Stofle, come by the Stalag. It seemed that Klink and Stofle have been friends for years and now the General is the commander of a large military unit in Africa. The Allies are planning an attack on Stofle's unit and want Hogan to keep the General away from his unit. The General brings with him a young female that Hogan is going to use to pin the General down.

It just so happens that Berlin has sent a nasty Gestapo agent, Major Zolle (Gavin MacLeod), that is looking into why Stalag 13 has had no escapes. Zolle thinks that something is wrong and is going to use everything at his disposal to discredit Klink's record. Hogan gets word to the General that Zolle is looking for his date and that she is the girlfriend of a high power Nazi member. Now Stofle is afraid to even show his face around Zolle.

For some reason this episode did not flow with the consistency of others. Both of the characters, General Stofle and Major Zolle, are great on their own but to combine them into one story- just did not keep the interest going. Gavin MacLeod was excellent as the nasty, black suited, Getapo agent and actually stole the show but the problem seemed to be with the story. Not a bad episode but one that could have been much better.
