Gomer gets conned again by a guy pretending to want to kill himself. It's hard to understand how Sergeant Carter is supposed to be smarter than the overly trusting Private. Yet Carter gets conned along with him. Still it's an amusing if somewhat monotonous movie. It raises questions about how much you should do for someone before it hurts the person you're trying to help. Ken Lynch is brilliant as the police officer. I think of him as playing bad guys. He's just fine in this short. You can find funnier episodes in this series. Still it's better than much of what has been on TV since. Give it a try. There's much worse ways to spend 30 minutes.
