Inspector Gamble investigates several occurrences, all of which seem linked to Finbow's, a shop specialising in selling goods on HP.
A story that's of course of its time, fur coats, and men selling door to door, the ideas seem almost alien now. If I'm honest I'd never heard of a 'tally boy,' seems to be like a catalogue salesman come debt collector.
It's a really interesting watch, you have to realise that the sixties was a totally different time. Once again the visuals are first rate.
The story was more complex and layered than the previous batch, I'm bit sure I understood all of the finer details, but I enjoyed it.
Colette O'Neil is excellent here as Kathleen Finbow, when did she ever disappoint, always such a wonderful character actress. I was speechless to read that Marchmont was played by Martin Shaw, I'll be honest, I didn't recognise him, but looking back, he was great, fans of his will really enjoy seeing him here in his youth.
7/10.
