Donna (Donna Reed) and Alex (Carl Betz) bring dinner to Jackie Kelk (as as Burt "Bo" Boland), after he hurts his back carrying a redhead off the golf course. Unimpressed with their friend's messy apartment, and his busty visitors, Donna decides Mr. Kelk "needs a woman" to settle down with. Back home, Mary (Shelley Fabares) tells Jeff (Paul Peterson) that librarian Susan Dorn (as Ceil Pennington) would be perfect for "Uncle Bo", since she's just broken up with boyfriend Hal Baylor (as Herbie Armbruster). Donna agrees, and decides to invite the two over for dinner. But, just as the couple begins to click, burly Mr. Baylor shows up, to ask Donna's help in reconciling with Ms. Dorn.
