This is my fifth favorite episode of the show; the plot isn't much just your typical charity drive plotline. Though the only inconsistences of this plotline are when Rob needed to take meal and bathroom breaks, but hey it's a TV show you just roll with it. By its nature it's really just a clothesline for the comedy. Dick Van Dyke is just at his best in this episode.
It's just funny seeing his character just slowly break down physically and mentally, having to endure 100 grueling hours of being on the air. It was just both painful and hilarious just seeing Rob going though the motions, it's one of those predicaments you glad you're not in. I honestly don't think I could make it (may 'be 48 hours) no human being is made to endure that much sleep deprivation, unless you really are going for some sort of record.
What I really love about this episode just like the motion of a record as it constantly builds up on Rob's breakdown it just gets funnier and funnier. The highlight of the episode was seeing Rob read news about a cat stuck on a tree and then he just breaks down and cries. I just laughed my head off as he is just so hung up on the bad news about the cat and is just unleashing the flood gates. It's even funnier as it's became infectious just when Laura enters the room, and both begin to cry.
This episode is 100 hours of hilarity.
