In the beginning I thought this was a strict parody of the British film with the same title-name. I expected Keith Allen to play the Irish republican terrorist and Lenny Henry to play the transsexual black girl. But what I got was quite different. What we view in this film is the cynicism the media and the tabloids have and how they use it on a celebrity footballer who rescues a little boy. This puts enormous pressure on the player and almost breaks him down when a journalist finds out he is a homosexual. Keith Allen even sings the song "Crying Game" form the original movie, but with a different touch. This film brings you both great depth of cynicism, humor and satire and is a great viewing for a Sunday night.
