Chico and the (Dirty Old) Man
kevinolzak12 July 2016
"Lifestyle" is an argumentative entry, introducing lovely Diana Canova, in only her third TV appearance, as Chico's new girlfriend Patty Bertran (returning one time in "The Giveaway"). Ed remembers the old days when a young man would get nervous meeting the girl's father for the first time, disappointed that Chico has no idea what Patty's father does for a living. More than ever Ed reacts like a concerned father, except for the moment when he sounds more like Chico's mother! When the girl arrives at the garage, Chico invites her for a look inside his van, but dirty old man Ed Brown imagines something filthy going on and goes on a rampage. By morning Chico just about has him convinced that he's been wrong the whole time, when Percival Bertran shows up, suspiciously eyeing Chico as the Don Juan who seduced and abandoned his daughter. Assuming that a baby would be on the way, Bertran insists on a wedding, for which Ed promises to pay for the liquor and the band. Patty appears to chastise her father, only for Chico to advise her to stop: "cool it Patty, we already got the booze and the orchestra!"
