Ben Astar the Greek consul in San Francisco hires the Checkmate team to protect his daughter Elena played by Janice Rule. She's something of a wild child, but when she runs down a young Chinese kid while speeding in in Chinatown she declares diplomatic immunity. That's not making a lot of people very happy and their have been threats.
The Chinese turn a blank wall in their community to Checkmate's occidental inquiry. But it also turns out that Rule has other enemies as well. She's involved in a theater group and her wealth and beauty is the reason for a lot of jealousy.
I have to say that Sebastian Cabot has some funny moments when he sees a rare Greek wine at Astar's residence. He's practically drooling over it so Astar gives him the bottle. Let's say that in the end it's a happy experience.
A nice episode, but Rule's change of character was completely unconvincing.
