Illegal gold
bkoganbing5 March 2021
When Edgar Buchanan and a truckdriver shoot it out over a routine traffic stop, the driver is killed and Buchanan seriously wounded. The driver was carrying an illegal gold shipment from another Arizona county.

Because this is another county Glenn Ford goes undercover, switching identities with Milt Kamen as an insurance investigator. This is a place where the face and person of Sam Cade is not recognizable. Ford sets himself as a most bribable individual and then sees what develops.

Some nice guest star performances from Judy Carne, Lonny Chapman, and Anthony Zerbe highlight this episode..

Cade's County
searchanddestroy-15 March 2015
I still enjoy this TV series, more than forty years after I first watched it, when I was a kid. It doesn't grow old at all. A kind of mix up between crime and western, with plenty action sequences and many stunts. And also a so exciting theme, that I have never forgotten. Well, in this episode, nothing special. At the beginning, the old deputy sheriff played by our old timer Edgard Buchanan is badly wounded after he discovered a large shipment of gold in a warehouse. So, our lead Sam Cade - Glenn Ford - has to impersonate himself as an insurance investigator in order to solve the gold shipment mystery, where it came exactly from, why it was in the warehouse where the old deputy was shot. We have a great pleasure to see here Anthony Zerbe as the villain.
