Once again we have a plot depending on overly competitive participants and an odd sport. Here it is robot wars. A man has been found, decomposing in a toxic waste barrel. His death ultimately takes the CSI's to a warehouse where guys are pitting their high tech monster robots against each other in a kind of mini-destruction derby. It's OK but pretty far fetched all the way around.

The War of Robots and The Coins

When a decomposed body is found in a gallon of dangerous materials, Grissom, Catherine, Nick, Sara and Capt. Brass investigate the case. When the DNA results come, they learn that the victim is the former army sergeant Christian Cutler. They identify that the drum came from a warehouse owned by Ginger Kellen and where there is a competition called Robot Rumble where robots are designed to destroy other robots. Meanwhile, Grissom, Warrick and Sam Vega investigate the death of Keith Mercer, who has been in the morgue for eleven days. They interview his wife and his partner, but they o not become suspects. When they check his cellphone calls, they find a lead.
"Precious Metal" is another episode of "CSI" with a good story. The segment with the robots is very interesting, with the guys disputing fight through their machines. The other investigation is simpler and also well-resolved. My vote is seven.
