This is another peculiar one in a string of episodes that each have one of the kids acting unusually bizarre. In this case, Bobby takes up the drums after he feels bothered by not being accepted into the glee club. His method of drumming involves flailing around and hitting everything as much as he can. And somehow, he has the energy to do it for hours a day!
I have to say that I actually felt like the parents demonstrated a sense of restraint, and made an effort to consider Bobby's feelings, but I was a bit disappointed with the cop-out ending. Bobby reveals he doesn't care for drumming, so the conflict is over.
I'd rather see a demonstration of the parents needing to gently break it to Bobby that his drumming is a problem.
I also find myself wondering what kind of drum lessons he was having.
The other storyline is a little unusual, since so much of it takes place outside the house, with a variety of extras. Peter is taunted by other football players for singing. This story plays out about the same as you would expect. Nothing special to see here.
