Classic TV Xmas Countdown Episode #69
kgraovac21 December 2023
Esmerelda accidentally conjures up Santa Claus but is unable to send him back so Sam zaps his helpers to the Stephens' living room.

This is a pretty tepid Xmas episode. The best parts about it are the opening and closing scenes in which Sam is seen showing baby Adam all the wonders of Xmas and then delivering a message to the audience in voice-over at the end.

Tabitha's her usual annoying self, whining about how another neighborhood kid doesn't believe in Santa. Larry's complaining because Louise has picked out her gift from him - an expensive mink stole. Darrin's peeved at Esmerelda and just wants to go to bed early. None of the characters seem very happy in this offering. At least Ronald Long makes a decent Santa.

IMO the only decent parts are the middle scene where we see the elves doing their thing in fast-motion while that familiar frantic music cue is played underneath the scene. Darrin witnesses this from the landing, while Gladys sees it from the outside and freaks out. Abner takes some really funny shots at Gladys as well: "Loosen your rollers, your hair is too tight".

Not very festive and kind of disappointing. 5/10.

🎄 EXCELLENT BEWITCHED CLASSIC 🎅
floridacalisurferboy14 January 2022
🎅 Actor RONALD LONG was born to play Santa Claus in a BEWITCHED CLASSIC holiday episode 🎄 Esmeralda accidentally sneezes up the real SANTA and now he's stuck at Samantha's house and can't deliver gifts to kids around the world... Samantha HAS TO think fast... She first brings Santa's Elves to help Santa, then zaps up his sleigh and reindeer... All the while nosey neighbor Gladys Kravitz keeps bothering them about neighborhood Xmas decorations... GREAT MOMENTS INCLUDE : Star Elizabeth Montgomery holding up her REAL cute baby at the begining with it as cute as can be (including a goat 🐐 who is also very cute) And Elizabeth herself wishing audiences a Merry Christmas as the final shot of camera leaving glass door as she kisses Darrin... A GREAT FAMILY CHRISTMAS EPISODE THAT HAS BECOME A TRUE CLASSIC.
