Every time Linda (played by Shawnee Smith) is on Becker for more than two minutes, that episode blows. In this episode she just goes on and on forever about why she needs to sublet her job to Holli (played by Carla Toutz).
I was hoping Margaret (Hattie Winston) would just slap her moronic face and fire her from her job (and the show), but no. Apparently this was one of those Shawnee Smith episodes where the spotlight was on her (lack of) talent.
Reggie (Terry Farrell) gets a lot of good lines as it becomes obvious that she cares for Becker. Terry Farrell is an excellent actress, and she manages to be demure and humble and yet she is very expressive too. Her character was the best one after Becker (Ted Danson). The end of this episode is very sad. Farrell really shows her sweet side, which is not often shown. Unfortunately, her affection for someone else is not reciprocated.
There is also a great back and forth over the course of the episode with Jake (Alex Desert) and Bob (Salverio Guerra). Guerra is usually just rude and obnoxious, but in this episode, he was given a chance to interact with Jake like a human being.
This could have been a great episode, if only Shawnee Smith were not on this show.
