As this episode opens Dylan is helping Harper when there is an accident; Dylan gets highly toxic exotic matter on his hand. The next thing he knows it is apparently a week later and he is talking to Rhade in Harper's bar. They are confronted by an individual who uses Dylan's force lance to incapacitate everybody other than Dylan; he then fights Dylan and fatally wounds him... before Dylan dies the man gives him a cryptic message and identifies himself as an 'Elysian'. The next moment Dylan is back on Andromeda where he has no recollection of Trance. That isn't the end of the strange events for Dylan; he finds himself in various locations and times; the only constant seems to be that in each he meets the Elysian.
This was a rather intriguing episode. Once Dylan had had his accident it wasn't immediately clear if what we were seeing was really happening, all a strange hallucination or something somewhere in between. Each of the places Dylan finds himself feature familiar people or situations. This gives a good sense of mystery throughout. Guest star Kevin Durand does a fine job as the enigmatic Elysian. Scenes showing the rest of the crew around an operating table do point towards the 'it's all a dream' theory but other details give just enough hints to suggest that it is more than that. Overall an interesting episode.
