***SPOILERS*** Warning here... don't miss Peter, Paul, and Mary singing in a nightclub act in Samson's Lounge in this episode. The plot is very inventive and carries through the show with a seriously clever way to immobilize victims. Evil, too. Thoroughly disreputable characters utilize a sophisticated way of robbing people at their most vulnerable. I'm not gonna give it away, but it has been used since to great effect in several spy-action-thriller type movies. The acting is top notch, the sets are used to exacting points, and bringing in Hawaiian Eye's Bob Conrad was an excellent touch. I'm usually not that impressed with "77", but in this case, they carry the day. I give it a 9.

A deadly trio
bkoganbing22 May 2018
Although they never left Warner Brothers back lot this episode takes us to several
places all over the world ranging from Honolulu, to Los Angeles, to Paris in search
of a deadly trio of con artists who set people up and shoot them with some kind
of nerve agent that paralyzes them. The effects if not permanent are long lasting.
Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. retained by the bonding company to investigate and recover the proceeds from a robbery of one of their messengers is the one who notices a pattern that only Interpol might have spotted. He gets a bit of aid and assistance from fellow Warner Brother PI Robert Conrad from Hawaiian Eye and later the French Surete.
The trio is Cloris Leachman, Dayton Lummis, and Sherwood Price. Lummis and Leachman are married and like to live well. Price is more the muscle end. These people are not fools and have absolutely no conscience at all with what they do.
Besides Robert Conrad and Poncie Ponce from Hawaiian Eye, Peter, Paul and Mary make a musical guest appearance during a nightclub sequence.
Reason enough to watch this outstanding episode from the series.
