A Piece of Italian Cinema potential
davidec068 May 2006
I saw the film in Venice and recently, permitting me to write about it. My general consensus is that although it would have been more enjoyable to see a story in a clearer storyline (a bit confusing at the end and less car shots due to sponsor I assume), the performance of the main protagonist Roberto Purvis (an Italian and American actor becoming more notable in Italy) was remarkable. I felt that watching it, I would have liked to have seen more of him if the story were to permit it (a time limit on the short entries at the Venice Film Festival 2005 Pluriel competition). I felt that his charisma and energy was that of neorealist/film d'autore from our cinema's past rarely seen today, something Italy desperately needs. The cinematography was excellent too. In all, an interesting work if developed more but a good sign and example that Italian cinema has hope and talent.

A nicely directed short, with some bad acting
slapheadhot24 July 2007
A nicely directed short film directed by Daniele Persica, despite a somewhat confusing storyline and some good art direction by Vladan Radovic, the film was seriously flawed by the leading actor, Roberto Purvis, playing the character of Robert Kane whose performance is totally centered on himself rather than having any connection with the story and has a total lack of style or acting ability.

This I found very frustrating, where on one hand hand, I can appreciate and respect the efforts of the film makers, what I found to be most memorable is the poor and inept performance of the lead actor Roberto Purvis.

Daniele Persica shows some excellent potential as a serious Italian film maker, and I hope that in future he will be able to cast acting talent worthy of his craft.
