This movie is quite interesting and enjoyable to see. It's indeed a love story, but not the usual kind of love story. I don't want to tell more on this: there is a surprise, watch the movie and be careful.
The characters and situations are quite uncommon which is very nice. Each character is almost a caricature bull still don't fall into gross comedy. In a sense (keep in mind this is his first movie), the works on characters could be compared to the one of the Coen Brothers in Fargo, or the ones in A Simple Plan from Raimi. It goes all the way from one guy who seems to feed only with chipped potatoes to the main character who, for some reason (that's what you'll learn from the movie) lives in a van hidden deeply in the Canadian forest.
This is, as far as I know, the first movie of that director. As almost every first movie, this one has his weaknesses. Small crew, small budget and so on. Still I've watched many first movies of many directors, and few are as good as this one. I'm quite eager to see what he will do next.
