A picture drama of rather curious construction, mixing up the governor of the state, his wife and a convict, her former fiancée, in a series of complications that contain much tenseness and suspense. There are some fine scenes pertaining, especially interiors. Augusta Anderson is splendid as the governor's wife and she is ably supported by Herbert Barrington and Charles H. Mailes. A finely produced picture drama. - The Moving Picture World, January 30, 1915
