I have a son that's almost three, and he loves anything that has singing in it. The difference between most kids shows and The Doodlebops is that these folks can actually carry a tune! This, of course, isn't the only plus for the show. The characters of DeeDee, Rooney, and Moe are very easy for preschoolers to relate to. They play, laugh, and have fun...but they argue occasionally, too. They always manage to make up, though...teaching kids that it's OK to disagree or even "fight" with your friends as long as you know when to apologize. The Doodlebops are bright and colorful, and the show is fast-paced. I definitely recommend this for anyone that has kids in the 3-7 range. Four stars!

This show stinks. For parents, they usually want their kids to watch something good for them. It is usually educational, funny, and bright.
Is it educational? No. the Doodlebops sing and that's it. They usually sing about themselves, they don't try teaching anything.
Is it funny? No. The Doodlebops instead say something which is not intended as a joke, and laugh at it.
Is it bright? It's so bright, it's painful. As far as color,s everything is extremely bright, so that's good. But NOTHING is ever wrong in the world of the Doodlebop's. Therefore, they are always happy. a kid in trouble will become depressed because they have never been exposed to being sad.
The show is also extremely cheesy. Every syllable is said to the highest level of exaggeration and very corny. It's overkill.
For kids, it's entertaining, but past the age of 2 you won't want your kids to see it. They'll never know how to grow up.

This show is so weird. It has bad writing, bad acting, bad songs, and what's with the painted faces? They are weird. And worst of all, when it aired on Playhouse Disney, it got PB&J Otter cancelled. WTF? There were so many other shows they could have cancelled like Out of the Box or Jojo's Circus. Or why not Higglytown Heroes? But even those are better. This makes The Wiggles look decent. It makes Dora seem like gold. Yo Gabba Gabba isn't as bad as this. Okay, that's kind of pushing it. Why did it have to be made? It should have been illegal to make this show. Screw this show. I'm so mad that it was made. And it is so annoying. Right when you think it's going to take a break from being annoying, it gets even more annoying

My children watch the show everyday that its on. Its a great program for younger children. However they need to stop showing re-runs and do some more actual shows and get rid of Rooney's and Deedee's YELLOW TEETH. Moe is the only Doodle bop with clean white pearlie teeth and the children notice these things and ask if the 2 don't ever brush their teeth? Does the show ever make its way to the United States and if so where can we find its schedule at. And one other thing if we might be able to add. Moe you need to stop hiding so much. Sometimes when you pop up out of no where you scare the younger children and whats with the pulling of the rope? What does that signify? other then getting wet all the time. They need to add newer things to their show instead of the same ole same ole. Kids loose interest that way.

I actually used to like this show - back when I was around the age of four. Looking back, there are elements that work, bright colors, actual lessons that are good for kids, but that's where the positive end. This show is incredible formulaic and redundant. The character designs are hideous and everyone is incredibly stupid.
My least favorite episode isn't terrible due to the fault of the show. There's an episode where they're trying to teach children the difference between high and low sounds. I can't physically hear certain low sounds so I just spend a lot of that episode confused as to why there was a lot of what I perceived to be dead air. Ignoring that, there's plenty to hate. The annoying songs and repetitive formula that's used for EVERY SINGLE EPISODE, also this episode teaches children that you can capture sound in glass jars (or maybe that was a different episode - either way there is an episode that teaches kids you can capture sound in glass jars). For every good lesson an episode has there are several dumb ideas that it will plant in your child's head. I was genuinely upset when I tried to capture sounds and it didn't work.
There are worse shows your child could be watching, but there are also better.

I work with children from 0 6 years old and they all love the Doodlebops. The Doodlebops are energetic, vibrant and appealing. Once they start singing, ''We're the Doodlebops We're the Doodlebops We're the Doodlebops Oh yeah Come and join the fun because we're laughing and we're singing all day" it is almost impossible not to join them in song. The Doodlebops brings the viewer into a world of color and fun. Each show is an adventure, the Doodlebops do not try to change the world with preachy messages all they do is have fun while sorting out everyday life challenges that the young child may relate to. The Doodlebops is an refreshing, high action alternative to regular children's television programs.

My 2 year old likes the Doodlebops show, it seems to keep his attention for awhile. The characters are interesting, vibrant with primary colours and all. There's not much educational content that the intended target audience could benefit from, but they do seem to have a theme each show and try to teach kids about sharing and respect and other basics, so I like it for that. It's well produced with high production values. But it's really just an average show like most of the shows on TV these days. We don't buy into the merchandise angle and have our son wearing everything Dooblebop. I don't think we'd spend money to go to a live show, if they ever came to town. Going to The Zoo or the Science Centre is a far better experience for everyone involved and in my opinion is money better spent.

I can't believe what I have read here? Many of you compliment these kids for doing the great job that they're doing. They're entertaining our kids, not US! So who gives a darn if Roonie (Chad Macnamara) is gay? It won't rub off on you dears :-) And no I'm not Gay. I'm as straight as they come. I'm a married Grandmother. My Grandson loves the show, and has no idea what Gay means. He isn't old enough to know OR care! Shame on you for pointing that out!!!! And by the way, Queer As Folk is the hottest show on show time. Too bad you all missed it. The last episode will air next Sunday night. They have some really hot guys on it for all us straight women :-)And...99% of the men on Queer As Folk are straight and have been on many shows on prime-time television.

My husband and I enjoy The DoodleBops as much as our 8 month old baby does. We have bought him DVD's and CD's just so we can watch and listen to them ourselves. They are fun, energetic, and very entertaining. They encourage children to be active, share and care. They always have a positive message along with fun entertainment. Every time our son hears the theme song he quickly turns his head toward the television and starts bouncing up and down in excitement. Dee Dee is a wonderful singer, she has a great voice. Moe is a great dancer. I would recommend The DoodleBops to anyone with children. Our favorite song is The Bird Song. You just can not help but smile and want to dance when you hear it.

I LOVE the Doodlebops. My son has been watching them for over a year. We went to the Doodlebops concert last year as well as one concert yesterday (connecticut). He LOVES them. The doodlebops do not teach the alphabet or numbers but who cares? are you being serious? the TV isn't suppose to teach your children about numbers or the alphabet. the parents should. Get over it. The Doodlebops actually CAN sing. Deedee has a beautiful voice and in concert you can tell all 3 of them have nice singing voices and do NOT lip sing. Imagine, they dance, jump around and STILL sing. they have talent, the kids love them i even enjoy watching the show. This show is by far the best show on TV for kids. AND a rock band for children. How amazing is that? Why are people saying Chad (rooney) is gay? where did you hear that from? Whether he is or not, He is awesome! Leave him alone. Its not like he or anyone else is promoting homosexuality to our children!

Doodlebops may be 30% the same every episode, and not have much "book" knowledge woven in, but kids seem to love it. My 2 year old LOVES the Doodlebops!!! While he may not be learning the ABCs or 123s, it does expose him to music and rhythm. Through repetition, (a lot of repetition) he is exposed to music and very simple life concepts, like "try try again" or "being a good friend". Not all shows for toddlers need to be "educational" . As a parent it is my job to teach him is ABCs and 123s. Television is recreational, and as a parent I don't rely on TV to teach my child. He only watches a few shows a day for entertainment. While adults may find Doodlebops boring and repetitive, two- year olds think it is great entertainment. I keep at least 2 episodes on my TIVO at all times!!! I mean, his favorite game is peek-a-boo (which is basically the "where's Mo" part of the beginning of each show, so this is right up his alley. He has only seen the show for a week or so and already can sing along. Of course in a few weeks he will probably be onto something else, but for now when given a choice, he wants to watch Doodlebops. There are definitely a lot worse things he could be into, at least the lyrics and costumes are clean. Seeing my son smile, and laugh for a half hour, is the what makes Doodlebops tolerable to parents. Parents may not love it, but you will love watching your kids enjoy it!

My daughter loved this show during its original run on Playhouse Disney. It was her absolute favorite show. We even went to see the Doodlebops Live because she begged us to take her.
Fast-forward a couple years and my son has discovered the Doodlebops on reruns and loves them as well. Both children love them for what they are: fun characters who sing catchy songs. My wife and I found the characters a bit annoying but we also realize that we're not the target audience.
For those who are worried that the actors might "turn" your kids gay because of other roles they've played, I should remind you to bar your children from watching any of the Toy Story movies. Tom Hanks played Andrew Beckett in Philadelphia. That character was gay and died of AIDS in the movie.

I have four children ranging in ages of 2-6. Everyday since the show has aired,my children wait patiently for the Doodlebops to come on. They have been hooked since the first show. I have looked high and low for pictures of them with and without make up. Any suggestions?? Thank you for providing my children with great entertainment. I would also like for my children to see them in concert sometime. We give the Doodlebops 10 Thumbs up!!! I sure hope that Playhouse Disney keeps the show on the air for years to come. I have watched all different kinds of children's programming and Playhouse Disney has once again added an asset to their list. Great job Canada, Cookie Jar Entertainment and Disney television for bringing children a show with excitement and music to stimulate their imagination.

I have a six month old baby at home and time to time she fights sleep really bad. One morning she was having a particular difficult time getting to sleep when the doodle bops theme song came on T.V. She stopped crying almost instantly, and for the rest of the show was content. I sat her in her bouncy seat and watched her kick her legs, swing her arms, and actually laugh at this show. The kept her entertained and happy the entire time. I also got a video of them so that at times when my little one is flustered I have something to calm her. Granted, late at night if she awakes with colic to fuss the doodle bops are not her cup of tea, but they sure do come in handy when I need a little time to do housework,etc. The biggest surprise about the doodle bops is that my child doesn't even like watching T.V. She'd rather be in the floor playing with a toy or with our small toy poodle than watch T.V. yet, the doodle bops have totally captured her attention. I don't know if she will continue to like them in the future but for now she's attached.

At first I didn't like the Doodlebops, but after watching a few times I am started to like it. My kids are getting something out of it. They have some good messages in the show. IE. not being scared of the dark, getting along, etc. It's nice and upbeat and moves along quickly. I think it will catch on. SOmeone said that it didn't have originality and took some things from Captain Kangaroo and other shows, but I don't think that's relevant as my kids and I am sure most out there have not seen or even heard of those shows. I say, if it works, it works. I hope you give it a fair shot like I did, I think it will catch on. I think it's a good way to start our day off and get moving.

Here's a fun, exhilarating show for the kids that is always positive. Well performed and produced, someone should tell this other 'reviewer he/she is a stick-in-the-mud. Relax. Every single kid's show doesn't have to be 'educational'. Kids have a right to have fun too, without everything having a message crammed down their little throats. Hey Mom/Pop (whichever), didn't you ever watch Seinfeld, Friends and other sitcoms. Were they educational??? Come on!! Very colorful and appealing costumes. Cute songs with a positive slant. Likable characters in DeDe, Rooney and Moe. Here's hoping the Doodlebops are around for a very long time.

My soon to be 4 year old thinks this show is the greatest!!! She sings the songs and does skits all day long! Of course she is DeeDee Doodle. Mommy, Daddy and Grandma get to be Rooney, Moe, and Razz. (not sure about the Razz name, my daughter could tell me but she's asleep) lol I can't find very much about them online, hopefully that will change soon! We've started recording the episodes, because that is all she wants to watch!! She loves all the Playhouse Disney shows, but this one she has wanted to watch since she saw a preview. She was all "Mommy look!" Anyway, we hope you all like it as much as we do!! Go Doodlebops!!!

I watch my granddaughter M - F all day long. She's 2 years old and she LOVES this show. Its on twice a day but we also have recorded a few shows. She'll get tired of playing and comes up to me and asks for doodle bops. She loves Moe and almost every song they sing she tries to dance along with them. She loves when Bus driver Bob shows up and the song they sing on the bus. And she loves the "where's Moe" segment at the beginning of each show. Its a wonderful show and I'm so happy I can share this with my granddaughter. My friends granddaughter is also 2 and she loves the show. We think its great and can't wait until they tour the US. We'll all be there!

okay... it seems as adults we know what we like... put yourself in a 2-6 year olds place! music, colors, dancing, singing all attract a child! as adults we cannot grasp some children's shows because we are above them and know more then a 2-6 year old! children are attracted to shows for their spunk, not educational value.... doodle bops are cute... they have talent... i couldn't stand half these shows until i looked at it from a child's perspective! they act silly and kids like that! its crazy to us, but again, we are not 2-6 years old!!i am not bashing anyone so please keep your negative comments (if for me) to yourself and act like a "grown-up". i am not here for that nonsense! just stating my opinion! :) either agree or disagree and say why...? thanks for reading!!

I was looking thru the comments, and noticed that several people mentioned that the show was not "educational" enough for them. Not every show has to be educational.If thats what you're looking for, turn off the telly and go read a book with your child. Its not up to Playhouse Disney to educate your child..its up to you.The Doodlebops are just for entertainment. They get my daughter dancing and singing. I don't expect her to learn anything from it. So, for that 30 minutes, just turn it off... go read a story, do an art project or go for a walk and just know that the rest of us are having a good time wondering..."wheres Moe?"

This cheapo show, with its stock crowd footage (to compete with the Wiggles, who actually draw crows?), hyper songs, fast-cutting, frenetic pace, all it does is make the kids crazy. The songs are incomprehensibly awful. The costumes are awful, and there is almost no educational value to it at all.
What was Disney thinking? The biggest stinker they've ever had on Playhouse Disney by far, as mindless as Barney or Teletubbies. For adults, just about any other show can be tolerated, if not outright enjoyed. The Wiggles et.al. have some cheese in them, but at least they make some attempts to be educational and maintain some standard of production values and professionalism.
Doodlebops looks like it was thrown together with a video camera and a tape of stock footage. The messages are anything BUT educational, and the songs are just plain bad.
Hopefully this stinker doesn't last long.

My 3-year-old daughter loves the Doodlebops. It's a fun and entertaining show. It isn't an academic show with counting and phonics, but the characters usually learn some lesson before their daily concert. But best of all, my daughter and I get up and dance together during the show! She has fun and I am encouraging her to exercise on a daily basis. It's a little campy and silly, but the show is for kids, not parents looking to the television to teach their children. In an era of convenience and overly competitive parents, we could all use a little more fun and a lot more activity. We LOVE this show. Thank you Disney for making us groove to the Doodlebops!

My 2 year old daughter and I watch The Doodlebops every morning. It is fun and energetic, and helps to kick start our day. I noticed people complaining that it has no educational value whatsoever. I think it does, maybe not the kind your looking for, but they do help teach kids to keep an open mind about new things, how to be nice to each other and good ways of resolving problems. Think about all the shows that we, as adults watch, whether they be sitcoms, reality TV, soap operas, or hour long dramas on in the evening. Are those educational? Do we "get" anything from watching them? I don't know about you but all I "get" from it is the enjoyment of watching my favorite shows, and that's how I like it.
