I suppose Nectar Films and its premier director were riding high circa 2003-5 but both entities are long gone from the scene. The DVD artifacts of Zion's work I've been watching recently explain his obscurity: a would-be art-porn purveyor who simply lacked the chops of his evident hero, "Andrew Blake".

This was a period when Michael Ninn was also a big cheese with his "artcore" videos, impressing critics and audiences with a classier sort of hardcore porn than the more influential children of Max Hardcore that ruled the roost. But all of this material doesn't hold up to future (or repeated) viewings, as it is essentially empty of content, the XXX correlative of downloadable wallpaper.

What Zion did create for these three "Mystified" videos is a very attractive studio set simulating a forest with a little pond and water feature, the sort of grotto location that would fit well into a story- line Adam & Eve romantic fantasy film of the time. But unlike A & E, Zion is not a narrative director, just a pornographer who (like most of today's practitioners) merely hires attractive "models" (no acting or speaking ability required) and poses them, either solo staring at the camera as they undulate, or being humped by central casting studs. Result is always boring.

Redhead fetish model/bondage expert Justine Joli is striking in her inevitable lesbian clinch, and other big names like Jennifer Luv and Jeneveve Jolie go through their paces. Nick Manning is back from Part II and equally annoying.

Unless you are addicted to this sort of post-Andrew Blake nonsense filler, it is best to steer clear of the land of Zion.
