Vera and Mica decide to get a divorce and are trying to find a way to tell their two daughters the bad news. However, the daughters will immediately try to test their affection.
Mica and Vera split their belongings, Mica takes up fitness training, Maja tries to pass her exams with the help of her cleavage, and Janja clumsily attempts to woo a boy at school.
Janja is on a field trip with her new boyfriend which worries Mica. He meanwhile decides to get his hair dyed while Jovanovic starts fancying Vera and Maja and Maca wear the same dress to a casting call.
Maca poses as Maja for a night so Maja can go to a fashion show which gives Janja an opportunity to ask her for some sex advice, Mica finds Maja's condoms, and Jovanovic decides to get a girlfriend.
Vera is visited by her old college professor who'll try to bed anything in a skirt, Mica over-bronzes at the tanning salon, Jovanovic poses as Vera's husband, and Maca tries to seduce a married man posing as Maja.
Inspired by her pretentious new boyfriend, Maja takes up painting. Meanwhile, Mica goes to a fancy dress party, someone beats up Janja's boyfriend, and Vera goes to spend a wild weekend at her friend Kica's office.
Vera, Mica, and Maja have to pretend to be a perfect family so that Janja wouldn't portray them too badly in a school play written by her. Meanwhile, Maja is courted by a mysterious suitor and Jovanovic enters an "aggressive phase".
Maja and Janja are so impressed by Maca's father that Vera and Mica become competitive. At the same time, Jovanovic is annoyed by the noisy sex life of his new neighbours and Vera makes a disastrous TV appearance.
Vera becomes obsessed with a video game, Mica gets a secret assignment from his philandering boss, Janja tries to cheat on a test with the help of Maja and Maca, and Jovanovic has a dream about his son giving him a betting tip.
Mica is accused of embezzling and Jovanovic may be his only hope, Vera falls for a mysterious shopper, and Maja and Janja develop a bitter rivalry over chocolate.
Jovanovic decides to motivate his neighbours to have more sex, Janja raises a school rebellion against the headmistress, Mica has a hypochondriac episode, and Maja decides to lose weight.
The family try to decide where to go on holiday while Janja finds out someone is trying to steal her boyfriend and Mica tries to sell his car to Jovanovic.
Maja and Maca are back from Greece, Vera starts working as an agony aunt, Janja is receiving flowers from a mysterious suitor, and Jovanovic and Smiljka alternately want and don't want to get married.
Maja's new boyfriend starts wooing Janja, Vera throws a party to prove she has lots of influential friends, and Smiljka can't stop working or else Jovanovic will bed her.
New Swiss neighbours whom Jovanovic suspects of being spies start tyrannising Vera and Mica, Janja wins big at the betting shop but becomes paranoid and suspecting everyone of trying to steal her money, and Maja starts a massage course.
Vera and Mica get involved in a prank war, Maja is being stalked by an unwanted suitor, Janja goes crazy over a maths competition, and Jovanovic starts gambling with eighth graders after being left by his wife.
Janja helps Maca get revenge on a folk singer who's stolen her boyfriend, Mica's attempts to spy for his boss are mistaken for revolutionary acts by his co-workers, Smiljka returns to Jovanovic, and Vera is plagued by a water shortage.
Mica struggles to get tickets for a fashion show Maja wants to go to, Janja rebels against Vera after she badmouths her to Jovanovic who has been stricken by a sudden desire to have children.
Two guests arrive at the apartment at the same time and get mixed up. One is Vera's pathological liar patient, the other Mica's multimillionaire businessman.
