persistent nightmare
caroline-piras-124 November 2005
10 minutes I will remember all the rest of my life, me, I guess as everybody. During 10 minutes, you are Sandra, trying to save her life and you live all her feelings... It's realistic, the young actress plays very well all the emotions, the dialogs are suffocating. In fact, suddenly we forget that we are in front of a fiction. And you live the nightmare of the young girl who try to reach the American dream, you understand all the sacrifices it implies and the none recognition of their human rights, of their existence, all the craziness of our world, all its wildness and ugliness. The director make you feel the boundary between people who are considered as humans with rights and pleasures, and some other who are only bodies, their lives means nothing just born to satisfied whatever. The boundary are thin, the countries are not far, but the boundary is uncrossable and the country unreachable...

So, the question will still be : is this the purpose of cinema ? Movies could entertained us, make us think, but are we here for suffering ? And in front of this ten minutes we suffer for sure. It's impossible to say if it is a good movie or a bad one, but it exists really, absolutely and for the rest of your life, this movie make you different. You deeply know that you are in front of a fiction, but it's not fiction.
