Brilliant parody
TBJCSKCNRRQTreviews1 April 2008
While I have not watched any of the serials of decades ago, I "got" this. It's difficult to find a lot to say about four minutes, but it's much more so to find anything to complain about in this... *that* is truly elusive. Even more so than Robert Denby. But I digress. The plot is marvelous. The writing in general *really* hits the nerve, with surgical precision, of the quality and many, many flaws of television writing in days of yore. The technical quality is intentionally worsened(don't believe me? Watch anything else done by Guy in his Basement Productions), with great effect(they even put in a section or two of completely black screen!). The comedy is really, really good. The acting is spot-on. As far as pacing goes... the short moves fast, and definitely doesn't overstay its welcome. Better to quit while you're ahead, and this doesn't come off as just firing off what material they had and then stopping dead in their tracks(or worse still, going on beyond that point). Direction is flawless. I recommend this to any fan of parodies, and a basic idea of what the old serials were is of great help. 8/10

Stunning... Best of the Best!

When I saw this masterpiece I thought to myself, this could possibly be the best movie ever. I never had a doubt about this epic even when I first heard of it. The special effects are stunning. The sword fight could possibly be better than Kill Bill. Everything seemed so real. I am truly amazed. Good Job Special Effects Supervisor! Its in depth story literally grabs your mind at the first line, "Look, there's a way in!". Wow. I can't imagine how someone else could rephrase that any better. Even though it is 4 minutes long, it seems like the story is a never ending sea; when it came to the end of the episode, I was biting my fingertips wondering if Captain Valedor will ever make it out of the Spiders Lair! I really hope Kerr is alright! It must of really hurt! I felt like I wanted to scream when that scary moster attacked the gang out of nowhere. I have now watched about 200 times, and it keeps on getting better. That's over 13 hours you know! Congratulations to Kent Sanderson, future big time director. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!!!
