For a 10 minute film, this one sure packs a wallop

This short film is included in the DVD "Shorts!: Vol. 1" and is one of the better ones in this compilation.

The film is set in England and you learn that the main character is a young man struggling with how to tell his friends that he has terminal cancer. At first, he runs away and later he tries to reach out to them--though with only limited success. Later, when he comes home to his parents, they are also at a loss for what to say or do. However, by the end of the film, the story really hits its stride and seeing the father, in particular, reach out to the scared son is very touching.

This was made very deftly and I sure hope that the crew that made this film get more work, as I'd love to see what they can do given even more experience and perhaps a larger budget. Excellent and hopefully shades of even better things to come.
