The literal translation of the title of this movie is: Urban Police.
In comparison to later similar police/crime movies such as Ming Jing Gu Shi (Police Stories) made in 1995, this one is definitely not as dull as dishwater because in this movie, the cops are played by professional actors while in the latter, the cops played themselves and resulting in more a documentary or docudrama.
In comparison to Ximen Jingshi (West Gate Police story) made in 1995, this movie is more realistic in that the latter was action packed while this movie has more elements like USA TV series CSI.
However, like its successors, this movie only told how to solve the problem, the passive approach, but failed to mention Prevention, the most effective and the active approach of fighting the crime.
