Chicago – Changing showrunners often proves the kiss of death for comedies. If you watched the Dan Harmon-less fourth season of “Community,” NBC owes you an apology. And so hearing that “Wilfred” was going to tweak its behind-the-scenes staff by moving David Zuckerman from showrunner to exec producer and sliding writer/producers Reed Agnew & Eli Jorne into lead roles, there was reason for concern. Don’t worry. The show is actually better — smarter, funnier, and better-paced. I had issues with the first two seasons of “Wilfred,” the second of which was just released on Blu-ray and DVD, but the start of the third season is easily the most promising to date.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0
Why does “Wilfred” feel different? Well, it’s just funnier. The writing seems less focused on “man in dog costume” jokes, the dialogue is crisper, and the laughs are bigger. The plotting seems more refined and less...

"Wilfred," FX's quirky comedy about a depressive young man named Ryan (Elijah Wood) and the titular canine that he and only he sees as a grumpy Australian guy (Jason Gann) in a dog suit, will return for a third season on Thursday, June 20th. The show will kick off with back-to-back episodes but without "Louie," with which it was paired last year, as Louis C.K.'s series is taking the year off. The change doesn't seem likely to affect "Wilfred" much -- though "Louie" gets more critical attention, "Wilfred" actually slightly outpaced it in ratings last year. "Wilfred" is an adaptation of an Australian series that was created by Gann alongside Tony Rogers and Adam Zwar, and also features Fiona Gubelmann as Jenna, Ryan's neighbor and Wilfred's owner, and Dorian Brown as Kristen, Ryan's uptight sister.

The Comic-Con 2012 schedule has now been released in full, and barring any major updates, is set. The blessing and curse of being an attendee is deciding which panels/autograph sessions/special events to attend, when they conflict. And they always do.
For you to see for yourself, below are what we are calling the “headliner” panels; those panels that are taking place in Hall H, Ballroom 20, Room 6Bdf, and the just-next-door Hilton Indigo Ballroom, the four major venues for panels. There are descriptions of each panel as well as the show(s) and/or movie(s) they are there to discuss.
See how many conflicts you might have, or how you might arrange time and space to somehow attend these plus spend every day in the vendors’ Exhibit Hall and chasing zombies in the nearby The Walking Dead Escape. By the way, if you figure that out, Please let us know.
