Very well-made, prototypical Dorcel glamour porn
lor_15 August 2016
Katia's Dreams, given U.S. distribution once upon a time through Wicked Pictures, is a good example of the easy, satisfying Marc Dorcel porn of a couple of decades ago that earned the French pornographer his international reputation. His video empire has gotten into an empty rut of late (as predictable as the magically appearing condoms that materialize every 10 minutes or so), but there are plenty of these enjoyable bareback classics waiting to be seen from his catalog.

Silvia Sun stars (and character provides narration) as Katia, a 22-year-old blonde Hungarian girl introduced in a very nice opening montage taking the Metro to go home after work to her Paris apartment, shared with roommate Mercedes. Feature is set in Paris but apparently was shot in Budapest like so many other Dorcel productions.

She suffers from recurring erotic dreams, which provides the video with the usual vignette structure. Each dream, mostly not involving Katia as participant, are well-staged bareback sex scenes showing off an attractive cast.

Roommate Mercedes earns top billing here, notwithstanding Silvia playing the title role, and actor turned director Jean-Yves Le Castel gives the brunette actress plenty of opportunity in the sack to prove herself. Some of the "dream" girls upstage the leads, notably blonde Inesa (with her missile-shaped breasts), hot in a threesome with Mimi and artist Pascal St.-James. Both these actresses are quite obscure, and here's my first chance to see them in action.

By far the biggest star to appear here is Rita Faltoyano, who had a fine Chatsworth career several years later. She is featured in the initial dream sequence, a traditional stag movie premise update and Euro-tized by Dorcel, as Rita calls for a plumber and big-dicked stalwart David Perry shows up and humps the horny lady.

Another superstar of the future, Sandra Romain, is cute as a button hiding behind glasses as "Mrs Muffel", a patient of sexologist Dr. Jean Dumont, also played by Pascal St.-James (to save a buck) with his hair parted differently and bearing a phony mustache. I really enjoyed how the sophisticated videos of Marc Dorcel harked back to gimmicks from prehistoric cinema.

This is escapist entertainment for the connoisseur -neither pretentious cinema with something to say at one extreme, nor ugly, mindless gonzo at the other.
