This is not the first movie inspired from Romania's rural post-communist events, by any means, but this is definitely the most fun to watch. The story would seem really absurd to western people, but it's actually based on events which happened in many villages in Romania. I lived a similar experience with foreigners after '90; as a teenager i was a translator for a french community which came often in our village and I cannot help myself thinking of how naive we were those days. Things did not change much in villages, but people got older and lost their charm. "Ajutoare umanitare" is like a Nightlosers (Hanno Hofer's band) song: art and humor.
