Reminds me of the Underground Comics.
David_Gittes21 May 2006
This is an amazing short film that is more than slight entertainment. It starts out simply enough, but as it pulls the viewer in, it delivers so much more than the basic cartoon that it is. It stars a dinosaur-like creature--sort of a hand puppet. The movie creates a whole world on what looks like a table top. It reminds me of the underground comics of Robert Crumb or more directly like Victor Moscoso. It starts out normal enough, and then evolves into something very strange--more the language of nightmares. This is typical of R. David's work. Influences include Kubrick, Jung, and certainly Sigmond Freud. There is even a bizarre appearance by Forrest Tucker, commenting like a Greek chorus on the process of film-making. Not to be missed!
