It is Christmas Eve and Mrs. Maigret is intent on the preparations, especially culinary, for the anniversary. Even the commissioner naturally thinks of spending Christmas within the home. And in fact he remains at home, but armed with the only telephone he will be able to solve a particular case: that of a little girl who, forced into bed by a fracture in the foot not far from Maigret's home, claims to have received a visit from Santa Christmas that brought her, without her parents noticing anything, a doll.
