German porn takeoff on Aaron Spelling is all-sex, nothing more
lor_19 August 2011
The opportunity to fashion a spoof or at least action porn derived from "Charlie's Angels" is muffed in this poorly-executed video. Other than perhaps Drew Barrymore throwing her net wide for inspiration, there's no reason for anyone to watch this junk.

German title is a misnomer, as there are only two angels: superstar Kelly Trump and her pierced-tongue confederate Conny Dachs, latter a busy but unimpressive performer. They listen to "Charlie" on a speaker phone, the only element of this wall-to-wall humping exercise that draws on the Spelling formula. Of course fans know Spelling was inspired by Ted Mikels' action movie THE DOLL SQUAD but the Las Vegas maverick will never get the credit he deserves for creating the durable 3 kick-ass girls format.

What passes for a story is Kelly and company (the gals have a non-Bosley styled male leader and two potent studs to help them) rescuing a cute blonde youngster from the clutches of two unconvincing kidnappers. Almost humorous is the elder of the two villains (both underage for their roles) doing a Sean Penn impression for most of the video (I make no bones about my dislike for that hammiest and most overrated of New Hollywood thesps).

At one point Conny introduces beautiful Olivia Del Rio to her studs, cueing a very arousing threesome. But Olivia is never involved in any of the "story" scenes, so her advertising as the third angel is entirely spurious. She does presage the over a decade later introduction of a Black actress into the format (long overdue) in Barrymore's new ABC TV series reviving the show, so perhaps Drew did as I surmised and got something out of this desultory video.

Trump is an amazing beauty, as always, but her career, best remembered in a lengthy series of Joe D'Amato videos, did not measure up to her talents. She desperately needed a better agent.
