A touch of the past

In the days long before an equal age of consent, this short drama (10mins) shown as part of the "Short and Curlies" season, was way ahead of its time, even in 1991. Set in the 1960s pre gay legalisation, the film tells briefly of birthday party held in a private club for a 40something man and his 15 year old boyfriend. Even the other gay men present at the party don't approve of the relationship and it soon becomes a "road" movie. Considering the small budget, the props are amazing, A great Car (Jaguar) and final setting in a 30s motorway tearoom are superb. A wonderful appearance by the late great Regina Fong as (what else) a drag queen completes the excellence of this piece.
