Fun to See the Ladies
richard.fuller110 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
It was only six episodes, so it could hardly have run too long.

Having seen The Sculptress, Britta's Empire and My Family, it was also fun, for only six episodes, to see these ladies all turn up in one show.

It wasn't magical, it wasn't lightning striking twice, but it wasn't wholly insulting or dull.

The office gossip didn't get to flowing too much, but for six episodes, it is fairly solid.

I'm watching the sixth episode as it wraps up now and it is displaying a conclusion, with the revelation about Samantha's father.

And Rod is a pretty good going guy. He is definitely worth the laughs here.

Not a good show, so find something else to watch, definitely, but if there is nothing else on to watch, I'll be putting in the DVD as I recorded Office Gossip and it will make for an equally worthwhile distraction in and of itself.

I like this comedy!

I'd like to say a word in Office Gossip's defence. While admittedly it may not be very original, it's still funny, or at least I believe it is. Pauline Quirke and Neil Stuke always pull off comedy characters well and, although the storylines are obviously pretty well-worn and predictable, and despite the occasional cringe-worthy line, this programme still makes me laugh!

I'm yawning just thinking about it

I have to say one thing before i start. I hate nice comedies. This is a good example of a nice comedy. As the guy who said before me, its once again a bland comedy with no-one in it that you'd remember in 20 years time. The characters all seem like ones you've seen before in other bad sitcoms that never left the ground. Why they chose to re-use them i don't know. I liked comedies where they may offend slightly (Monty Python, Not the nine o clock news) and sitcoms where they incorporated swearing and violence with sexual references (Bottom, The Young ones) but this does none of them. This is the kind of thing that only some ones Grandparents would watch. It went on TV unnoticed and went off screen just as unnoticed. DON'T WATCH THIS, PUT A DVD OF SOMETHING ELSE ON INSTEAD.
