Hanuman Vijay; the other side of Maruti
Ambalika2 February 2006
Warning: Spoilers
In Hanuman Vijay, Maruti isn't portrayed as the typical servant and fighter of Ram, he's much more. There's the father, the lover, the mischief, the troublemaker, the rescuer and every other role which is normally not easily associated with Hanuman. With the wonderful song: Amber ke niche Dharti, Dharti ke niche Patal, the mood is set wonderfully later on in the movie and the idea of 'Darker' sides of both Deities and more 'Lighter' sides of supposedly 'evil' entities (Makar-Dhwaj) are shed light upon. It's a definite part of the vedic tradition to point out that there is no absolute evil or good, there's only many shades of grey which apply only in such specific situations, that there's bound to be 'rules' vying for supremacy each and every time and that it is up to the individual to find out what dharma is at that time. Difficulties like these are abound in this wonderful mythological cinematographic recounting of parts of the Ramayan epos which usually don't get the attention they are due.

a good original movie for Hanuman devotees
ashutoshhind19 October 2018
This movie is based on the story of snakelady 'Chandra Sena' who wanted to marry lord Ram but instead was kidnapped by Ahi Ravan. This movie does not showcase the main sequences of Ramayan and characters like Ravan only come for just appearances.

This movie has extensively shown Hanuman and his wife Makri. MAKRI also clears that she is not a wedded wife but she has given birth to Hanuman's child by drinking the sweat drops from Hanuman's forehead.

This movie is not for those who are looking for main stories of Ramayan.
