A Guide For The Married Man
boblipton13 April 2021
Harry Shannon won't let Hobart Cavanaugh go home. Instead he insists they go out with a couple of hot numbers, because he has a foolproof system for getting straying husbands out of hot water. Is Cavanaugh fool enough to listen?

Bryan Foy's direction of this short skit is slow and deliberate, but it didn't slow up any of the players in their careers. Wynne Gibson landed herself a nice Paramount contract, and Cavanaugh spent the next twenty years playing comically harried clerks and similar roles in Hollywood productions.

Worth spending 10 minutes.

This is not as bad as the critic review says. No plot? Sure, that is what Vitaphone shorts were all like! A chance to see Miss Wynne Gibson at the very dawn of her career is priceless.
