MovieHole has officially confirmed martial artist Scott Adkins has signed on as a henchman in the upcoming action sequel “The Expendables 2.” Adkins had roles in several action films including “Black Mask 2: City of Masks,” “The Medallion,” “Undisputed III: Redemption,” and “The Bourne Ultimatum.” He will be appearing in another upcoming sequel “Universal Soldier: A New Dimension” next year. So Adkins will join the elite action superstars in the film that already included Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Terry Crews and Liam Hemsworth. The sequel will be directed by Simon West (“Con Air,” “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”) from the screenplay by Ken Kaufman (“Curious George,” “Space Cowboys”) and David Agosto (“Big Canyon”). There have been a lot of rumours about who's staying, who's leaving and who's joining the cast of The Expendables 2. Now according to Empire, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have locked in deals and will have 'substantial roles' in the much discussed sequel. This is no doubt good news for fans of Arnie and Bruce, as they had little screen time in the first film and it sounds like they will be given a lot more opportunities to blow things up this time round. Directed by Simon West (Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) with a screenplay by David Agosto (Big Canyon) and Ken Kaufman (Space Cowboy, The Missing), The Expendables is due to start shooting in October.
