Released to US markets by Rhino Home Video, Go Go Bigbeat is one of the butt-ugliest videotapes you're ever likely to see. Rhino's transfer is all deep reds and browns and looks no better than a third generation bootleg. As for the music, it's not the best the mid 60s had to offer, but worthwhile highlights include Millie Small lip-syncing Oh Henry! and the ubiquitous My Boy Lollipop; The Merseybeats' excellent Don't Turn Around; The Tornadoes; a familiar but welcome clip of The Animals performing Baby Let Me Take You Home; The Hollies' Here I Go Again; and Lulu's incendiary take on Shout. There's nothing here that's indispensable, but this really needs to be cleaned up (and expanded?) for DVD.
