A good romance story that was ahead of its time

and consequently, did not do as well as those martial arts flicks in the box office: China in the 1920's was still very traditional and marriages are arranged, so the romance story depicted in the film was not acceptable in general. The literal translation of the title of this film is: Romantic Dream next to the Lake.
