Turned it into a chick flick
Kristinartist7915 March 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Although the movie is interesting to watch, they obviously turned it into a chick flick; I could tell it was not all true, other than the fact that she took a drug to get pregnant and had sixtuplets. I am sorry for the family of the movie and I guess people should realize no movie is 100 percent true. I think the only thing the writers knew about the family was the main plot, could not get pregnant for about six years, took a drug to get pregnant (invetro was probably a new thing in the late 80s early 90s and probably even more expensive now) and they had six children. The writer probably just worked from there and made their own story out of it. They did not include other family members, such as the siblings who helped the family out and did not know the mother's character so therefore created their own character. In a way it seems like the family is exploited, but I supposed we all should know an ABC movie cannot be all real.

Good performances, decent acting

I didn't plan on watching this but I stumbled across it and couldn't turn it off. It is an interesting story and I could relate to the sadness of the grandmother's illness. But the fact that the other grandmother (Doris) is portrayed as the opposite of how she apparently really is makes this difficult to watch.

I don't mind a few dramatic additions to a story to help it along, but when you take a real life person and portray them as evil for the sake of a more interesting story, that's just wrong. Its not necessary and is certainly unfair.

But I was able to watch it while keeping in mind it was fantasy.

Horribly Inaccurate and Offensive...
svshougie18 April 2005
As Becki Dilley's brother and son of Doris Stauffer... I am sickened every time this movie airs. The portrayal of my mother goes beyond inaccurate to the point of offensive. Meanwhile, the positive aspects of the storyline are lost in the glamorized negatives that are MANUFACTURED throughout the movie.

I LIVED the experience. I lived in the same house and helped take care of the children when they were initially brought from the hospital in that Summer of 1993 and I can honestly say that I wish ABC Family would officially never show this movie again.

If you have ever watched this movie, please do not believe what you have seen. Even Becki has written letters to various local newspapers stating that only approximately 20% of the movie is accurate and the writers at Wild Rice Productions should be ashamed of the fact they cast our mom as a vile character.

I welcome all responses and I thank you for your time, Steve Stauffer

An excellent show for the family!
DM-112 September 1999
I saw this show and thought it was great! Being a parent of twins both my wife and I could relate to it, and contest to the reality of the situations. Both Scott and Melissa Reeves were excellent as the parents and I would like to see more of them together. I look forward to it being on again so I can tape it to remind me how tough and rewarding it is having multiple children born at the same time.

i think this movie was brilliant

i loved this film and although it may not be a 100% true, most true life stories are not to protect the privacy of other people and so on,but as a movie in general i liked it and found it really interesting how the couple made their decision and coped with raising six children and i think any one should watch this film to see how well the story is told. also i don't think the real parents of the children would want every fact of their life's advertised on television and if they put in to much then the film either becomes to long or to boring with useless information but i thought this film had enough information to keep you interested

Great movie of the week!

I loved this movie! Both Scott (of the Young and the Restless) and Melissa (formerly of Days of Our Lives) Reeves gave terrific performances, as did Judith Ivey and Teri Garr as their mothers. I enjoyed the entire storyline of this movie. I hope that we can see it again!
