GAMBLER AND THE KUNG FU MASTER is a kung fu cheapie made on a provincial budget. The plot is quite uninteresting and limited by the usual round of poor English dubbing. The kung fu master is a bullying guy with a goatee beard who butchers a rival in the opening sequel. The gambler, the film's hero, is a bald-headed idiot who gets into all kinds of trouble before becoming a fighter in his own right. As with many such films, around half of the running time is made up of aimless lowbrow comedy which serves only to drag the pace right down and make this a boring film to sit through.
