Here's an early fighting game.

Okay. This is one of those original games to come out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1984. Sure, it looks kind of goofy; but I think it could be a predecessor to a lot of those fighting games that became so popular in the late 80s/early 90s. Here's the plot (if you don't know it already): You play a thug who goes around town beating opponents up with your fists. As you show all the other punks who's boss, you pass by all the popular sites in town: the Snack Bar, the Barber Shop, the Book Store, the Restaurant, and the Discount Store. All the while, you've got to avoid things people throw out the window and the occasional police car. Each opponent could be a different guy, but they really all look like the same guy. Nonetheless, the fights and obstacles get harder and more persistent as the game progresses. Each time you knock an opponent into the sewer, you are celebrated with confetti. I'm not quite sure if the game ever ends, but no matter! After all, what's an Urban Champion to do but keep on fighting?
