Famous Canadian defence lawyer, Edward Greenspan presented interesting legal decisions and cases in this dramatized CBC television series which was preceded by a CBC radio series. In Regina vs Pappajohn, a possible defence is rejected then appealed at The Supreme Court. George Pappajohn and a female real estate agent had sexual intercourse after meeting to discuss the sale of his home. The woman was seen running from the house, naked, with her hands bound. She claimed he raped her. Pappajohn claimed she made coy objections but she had consented. During the trial , the defence of 'mistake of fact' was considered for presentation to the jury. If so, Pappajohn would be able to claim that he mistakenly believed that she had consented. This defence was not allowed by the judge. The show presents the events and the decision of the Supreme Court. Put in context by Mr Greenspan.
