To celebrate the release of English Vinglish, we here at Bollyspice felt it was only appropriate to provide you guys with a brief career retrospective of the film’s leading star. It is none other than the beautiful and delightful Sridevi, who officially makes her comeback with with this film. Having been absent from the Indian film industry for over fifteen years, Sridevi has not lost her touch at all when it comes to displaying great acting. This is evident with the high praises she has so far received from critics for her stirring performance in English Vinglish. Bollyspice’s very own Anjum Shabbir mentioned in her review of the film that Sridevi’s comeback is by far the best you will see so far! It's official. And we got it out of Ajay Devgn's business associate Kumar Mangat. After the unending speculation about who would be taking over Sridevi's role in the remake of the 1983 hit Himmatwala, fuelled in no small measure by the neo-Himmatwala's director Sajid Khan tightlipped silence, it is finally out Telugu and Tamil actress Tamannaah Bhatia would be playing the lead opposite Ajay in Himmatwala. Says Kumar Mangat, "Yes, it's Tamannaah opposite Ajay in Himmatwala. The shooting starts in August. Ajay has Bol Bachchan on release and Son Of Sardar is almost complete. Himmatwala is the only other project he will start this year." Significantly, names like Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma were bandied for the part of the whip wielding firebrand that catapulted Sridevi to stardom in Himmatwala in 1983. Says a source close to the project, "Katrina and Anushka turned down the role. It was...

The makers of Sridevi?s comeback vehicle have asked her to put the many pounds she?s lost right back on
Screen legend Sridevi is all set to make her comeback after a 14 hiatus with Gauri Shinde?s film English Vinglish. Unlike many housewives, who let go of themselves after motherhood, Sridevi has done an envious job of maintaining her proportions, almost making it hard to believe that she is the same plump actress who debuted in Solva Sawan (1978).
Staying in shape is no easy task but some feel that Sridevi?s stringent diet and rigorous workout regime has made her almost anorexic. Husband and film producer Boney Kapoor says in jest, ?When the food comes to the table I feel sorry for it. I therefore end up eating for both of us. That’s why I’m overweight.?

Click above for more movie stills Being autistic is almost like the crest of being artistic. Hrithik Roshan did the autistic act with National award winning elan in Koi Mil Gaya. And just as we heard of Shah Rukh Khan turning autistic for his role as the isolated Muslim in New York in Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan, comes the news that Anil Kapoor will be seen playing an autistic character in Subhash Ghai's Yuvvraaj. Says a source, "Anil plays elder brother to Salman and Zayed Khan. Subhash Ghai had been meaning to incorporate a physically-psychologically challenged character into his script for a long time. It was Anil who told Subhashji the story idea for Yuvvraaj." Apparently, Raj Kapoor at one time wanted to make a similar film written for him by his long-term collaborator Jainendra Jain. Interestingly, this isn't the first time that Anil Kapoor is playing an autistic character.
