A low-budget melodrama with subtle surreal symbolism hidden in it.

This film deserves many praises for it's originality in thematic development and symbolist imagery. It is clearly influenced by such classics as Bunuel's un chien andalou' and Rene clair's early dada masterpiece 'Entr'act', though it might be hard to spot at times, with it being a modest israeli melodrama..

Of course it would have been delightful if the film had a more competent technical staff, a staff that would have let Y. Barkan's brlliant performance ( Nothing short of Mastroianni's performance in '8 1/2' )shine undisturbed.

Generally, it is a film of some potency and ability, but don't hurry to go and see it.
