So-so 70's porn cheapie
Woodyanders4 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Sassy young Meg (slim and lovely blonde honey Sandy Carey) lives at home with her sickly mother and creepy domineering father. After dad rapes her, Meg leaves home and enrolls in a college in the city. She moves into a group residence where the fetching female tenants support themselves by having sex with paying middle-aged perverts. Sound good? Well, it's merely okay to a point. For starters, the drawn-out sex scenes are pretty tame and poorly staged, with no explicit depictions of the usual fellatio, cunnilingus, and copulation. Moreover, the heavy-handed story gets in the way of the eroticism and concludes with a dissatisfying surprise bummer ending that leaves a foul aftertaste. Fortunately, the ever-adorable Rene Bond greatly enlivens the otherwise drab proceedings with her smoldering sensuous presence: Sporting her trademark gold belly chain, flowing long brown shoulder length hair, a sweet'n'petite figure, and a bright cheery grin, Rene performs her one obligatory (simulated) sex scene with her usual delightful joy and vigor. Carey's two sex scenes are a mixed bag: The rape set piece is not surprisingly a big turn off while her second sex scene is a tad better, if still kind of blah. Moreover, the wildly eclectic soundtrack moody piano stuff and get-down groovy grinding soul provides a few much-needed unintentional laughs. Passable, but overall nothing special.

Softcore incest drama in two competing editions
lor_31 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This porn film has been issued on video by two competing companies in quite different versions -I'll attempt to sort out the issues involved.

After Hours Cinema has the longer version, by 5 minutes, including a thematically helpful opening scene completely omitted from the Something Weird Video issue.

That intro scene has Sandy Carey humping with her boyfriend Pete in the back seat of his car (we don't see it, just the car rocking), as her dad watches angrily from his window. SWV starts with the next scene of daddy telling her she must stop seeing the guy, which makes a lot more sense with the first scene included.

From here on the SWV version becomes the one to keep, as the AHC honchos were afflicted with what I call Weinstein Mangling Syndrome. They removed the soundtrack from all the sex scenes to substitute their "we know better" own soundtrack of hard rock music, but in the process removed the dialog/background sound track too. It ruins the movie.

SPOILERS AHEAD: Sandy overhears her ill mom Martha upstairs giving daddy a hard time, claiming that Sandy was simply the result of her being raped by him. This scene is poorly recorded in both versions -it's not the playback that's at fault on either video. She dies, and daddy heads downstairs where Sandy berates him.

He proceeds to rape her in an endless scene, shot with aloof overhead camera. In this scene Sandy keeps yelling "stop" and later "don't" (not don't stop but don't rape me) but that content is entirely missing from the AHC version. Why they thought that was an improvement merely shows brain damage at their New Jersey headquarters, as my simple simultaneous playback of the two videos proved.

When dad finally slumps over after the rape concludes (no money shot -this is strictly softcore), Sandy hits him over the head with a liquor bottle.

Endless voice-over narration as we view shots of city streets take us to her moving out of the house, and trying out a new home with roommates suggested by boy friend Pete. At first she balks when she finds out the place's rent is being paid for by a mystery man appropriately called "sugardaddy" who insists the girls prostitute themselves by servicing any guy he sends over, but after stud Ric Lutze sweet talks her and humps her she acquiesces to making this her new home. Lutze is his usual porn self, giggling mindlessly and wearing an effeminate jump suit. One of the roommates is his usual teammate Rene Bond, wearing her trademark gold waist chain (and showing her not-yet-augmented breasts).

Bond heads to the bedroom with Sandy's boyfriend Pete and they have a lengthy sex scene of their own. She fakes fellatio but Pete's erect dick is shown on screen, leading the anonymous AHC booklet writer to erroneously state that several seconds of XXX footage is shown during Rene's sex scene. This is not the case -they dry hump with Rene riding him, but no penetration is shown, no insertion shots, no money shots. It's the typical softcore "dick underneath" technique that even a novice porn fan should know, but apparently not the "After Hours Collector" schmo.

Just as the rape scene, in all its tedium, was directed like a one-act play -think EXTREMITIES (and as if D.W. Griffith had never invented the screen close-up shot), the movie's dumb finale has Sandy's daddy storming in from stage right carrying a bayonet (WTF?), demanding to see her -turns out HE's the mysterious "sugardaddy" paying the rent. Sandy's underneath a blanket having passed out after too strenuous sex with guest star Adam Ward (with Ric and company deciding to cover her up rather than help her!), but she comes to and manages to grab the bayonet that daddy has conveniently dropped on the floor (sure sounds like a high school play). Sure enough, she stabs daddy with it.

This prompts a curtain-crashing-down revelation speech, the likes of which I hadn't seen in a movie since Jeanne Eagels' memorable closer at the end of 1929's THE LETTER. Ric blurts out that it was HE, not daddy, who raped good ole Martha 20 years ago, whoops he's Sandy's real daddy (having just boffed her a scene or two ago). Incest wins out, just like in a mistaken-identity plot of an 18th Century novel.

Boring Sexploitation

I'm No Virgin (1971)

* 1/2 (out of 4)

Meg (Sandy Carey) is constantly being put down by her father because of her sexual ways. After her mother dies Meg decides to tease her father with her sexy body but this causes him to rape her. After killing him she runs off and meets a man who introduces her to his friends, which leads to some sex.

I'M NO VIRGIN is a pretty forgettable softcore picture that was probably filmed over a couple days and without too much concern for quality. There isn't a director credited to the picture and that's understandable because there doesn't appear to have been one working during the scenes. The majority of the running time (a whole 55-minutes) features softcore sex scenes that are poorly stage and that are certainly not erotic.

Carey is an extremely attractive woman but I'm sure many aren't going to buy her performance too well and especially the rape sequence. It's so strangely done that one can't help but laugh and feel bad for doing so. Once the location switches to the "party" we get Ric Lutze and Rene Bond joining the fun. Everything is done softcore but the man scoring with Bond is fully aroused and appears to be enjoying himself even though there's not any real sex.

The majority of the running time has the camera in a long shot where we see the sex begin. The camera will then zoom to one of the participants who moan and pretend to be getting off. This repeats throughout the movie and it becomes deadly boring as each scene is just dragged out.
