Filmmaker David DeCoteau has become famous for two things - creating his own genre of film (boxer briefs horror), and for casting hot young actors who may or may not go on to bigger things, but more than likely would rather have all evidence of their involvement (see above) wiped from their resumes.
Under a myriad of alternate names (my favorite being Richard Chasen), David has brought us such memorable trash as The Brotherhood Series, Leeches!, Wolves Of Wall Street, and well, too many to list. If you go further down his filmography, you'll find a soft core classic (Leather Jacket Love Story), and some more ... directly sexual films.
But for whatever reason, David has turned his attention to carving out his own niche, and is now expanding on it with an ambitious new series of films titled 1313. They combine those DeCoteau...

Love him or hate him, one thing is for sure: Director David DeCoteau is a legend in the horror entertainment field. That can't be denied. He's the man responsible for 80's camp classics such as Nightmare Sisters and Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama. Sorority Babes In The Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama gathered a once in a lifetime B movie cast including Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead), Brinke Stevens (Grandma's House), Michelle Bauer (Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers), Robin Stille (The Slumber Party Massacre), Hal Havins (Night of the Demons), and George 'Buck' Flower (They Live). While Sorority Babes was one of the most downright fun horror films of the 80's, another element stood out about the film, one that would go on to shape and define David DeCoteau's career. No less than six new genre movies by director David DeCoteau are receiving theatrical release as triple features at Los Angeles’ Regent Showcase Theater (614 N. La Brea Avenue). You can see combined promo art for all the titles below, and we’ve got the showtimes as well.
Currently playing through this Thursday, April 23 are The Brotherhood VI: Initiation, the latest in DeCoteau’s cult campus chiller series, at 5:30 p.m. daily; the erotic thriller Playing With Fire at 7:30; and The Invisible Chronicles, his variation on the H.G. Wells classic, at 9:30. Starting Friday the 24th and playing through Thursday the 30th are The Brotherhood V: Alumni (pictured) at 5:30; DeCoteau’s Edgar Allan Poe adaptation The Pit And The Pendulum at 7:30 (see our item on that film and Brotherhood VI here); and his 1997 feature Leather Jacket Love Story. Each bill is a three-movies-for-the-price-of-one deal; the movies can also be seen on here!
