Another worthy kern short
sirarthurstreebgreebling11 August 2000
With a running time of only about 8 minutes "Woman at the wheel" is not one of Richard Kerns more explicit shorts, its more of a comedy based around the president that women cannot drive. Set in new york the "woman" of the title has a couple of dates with sleazy looking men who never let her drive the car "I wanna drive" she screams at one sleaze ball, stealing his car and leaving him by the side of the road she shoots off only to be confronted by a gang of post punk teenagers who begin insulting her, already in a pretty emotional state she has flashes of naked men and the naked teenagers rolling around on her windsheild , before she knows it she is out of control and ploughing her way through the gang. So ends "Woman at the wheel" , the picture and sound quality are of about the same for all Kerns low budget adventures and this is no exception but forget that, sit back and enjoy this with a good dozen of his other shorts and take a peek into his world, its well worth it.
