The drama surrounding the comings and goings at “The View” isn't doing anything to increase the show's viewership. Questions about the fate of the show's panel began with Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy announcing June 27 that they were exiting the show. The next day's episode was pre-taped, not live, and was followed by a week of reruns. Shepherd and McCarthy returned July 7 to begin serving out contracts that end next month. For now, the idea of Sarah Palin co-hosting “The View” is just a dream. “Any specific names at this point are rumor and speculation,” an ABC representative told TheWrap. “No decision has been made and we are not to ready to make any announcements.” ABC's Final Offer; Jenny McCarthy's Contract Not Renewed Palin's recent comments about how the show might benefit from a panelist like herself have fueled speculation that she is, in the words of the Huffington Post, “publicly auditioning” for the job. Whoopi Goldberg is the only “View” panelist slated to be.

Joan Rivers says she was surprised by Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy exiting “The View,” and thinks the show shouldn't have let Elisabeth Hasselbeck go. “I was on the last show before they got fired,” Rivers said in a HuffPost Live appearance. “It was out of nowhere. How about that? They blew the show up.” Also read: Inside ‘The View’ Exits: Sherri Shepherd Rejected ABC's Final Offer; Jenny McCarthy's Contract Not Renewed As TheWrap reported last week, it's a little more complicated than that: Shepherd turned out ABC's final contract offer, and the network decided against renewing McCarthy's, according to people familiar.

Mob City, Season 1, Episode 5, “Oxpecker”

Mob City, Season 1, Episode 6, “Stay Down”
Written by Frank Darabont and David Leslie Johnson
Directed by Frank Darabont
Aired Wednesdays at 9pm (Et) on TNT
Mob City has had much too short of a first season, only 6 episodes, but every minute of those episodes have been used wonderfully. In every respect, the show is, simply put, stunning. From episode one, Mob City has done many things right, from the atmosphere to the writing and finally to the casting choices. “Oxpecker”, the night’s first episode, does something very interesting. Anyone who’s familiar with mob history knows where Sigel and Cohen ended up (Sigel died bloody in his girlfriend’s living room and Cohen died in bed at 62), but Mob City doesn’t try to change their stories or rewrite what we know is coming for the sake of drama.

James Earl Ray is most well known for the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a career criminal, and he participated in two prison breaks; one before the assassination and a joint escape afterward. To prevent future escapes, he was asked while in prison to draw a map of his escape method. It was this curious historical artifact that made its way onto the show "Final Offer" (Thu., 10 p.m. Et on Discovery).
A history teacher had bought the map for $2,500 and was now looking to double his money. But the buyer was more interested in seeing that the map make its way to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, if they would want it.
The buyer even played on the profession of the seller in hopes of getting him to budge on that firm $5,000 offer. "Really, you're a history teacher and you don't want it to go to the right place?...

A woman with a one-of-a-kind cinema collectors item showed it on "Final Offer" (Thu., 10 p.m. Et on Discovery), exciting a buyer. But she was hard-nosed about the item, certain that it held more value than the buyer was willing to give her for it. The item was a dress worn by Marilyn Monroe during the filming of "Something's Got to Give," her final movie.
The movie was never finished, but confirmation of the dress being worn in it -- during Monroe's thinnest -- can be seen in a documentary that was made about the movie. Knowing the power of Marilyn Monroe still today, and the importance of a dress she wore during her last project, the woman held fast that the dress was worth $1,000,000.
"I want this dress! I want to make this work!” the buyer said, but she was holding fast at $800,000. She told him she'd already turned down $500,000 for it,...

New York, Sep 22 – ‘Jersey Shore’ star Jenni Farley, popularly known as J-Woww, is reportedly negotiating a whopping 400,000-pound deal to pose nude for Playboy magazine.
But before fans can fist pump with excitement, there are a few complexities that need to be sorted out before things can materialize.
Firstly, the deal has not been finalized and secondly, J-Woww’s contract with MTV may reportedly prevent the busty brunette from posing in her birthday suit.
Posing in the buff may not be an issue for the self-proclaimed ‘guidette’, who has an affinity for flaunting her over-the-top assets on the hit MTV show.
“Final offer is standing..

It took boisterous Uncle Nino to lure "Jersey Shore" star Jenni "JWoww" Farley into the Miami hot tub for the first time this season. Now it looks like a hefty payday might lure the reality starlet to shed her bikini in the pages of Playboy.
"Final offer is standing," JWoww told E! Online last week. "Hopefully, it will go through."
Now, one of JWoww's co-stars has spoken out about the potential magazine spread, which, according to Radar Online, could drop as much as $400,000 into Jenni's bank account. Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, who brawled with her buxom roommate on a recent episode, responded to the Playboy gossip much the same way she has responded to JWoww all season long: with disdain.
"If Jenni wants to pose for Playboy, go right ahead," she told MTV News.
