Duel in dullsville
lotekguy-113 January 2022
Believe the low ratings, western fans. They don't come much blander than this. Fred Beir shows less of a personality than his horse. Or his saddle. Or the dust trail behind both. The story is generic "I'm a-gonna git the guy what kilt my pa" played out at a snail's pace. Even the climactic confrontation is a drag with an illogical number of bullets pinging off walls between occasional hits. Many of the shots are fired off-camera, making the sound tech work harder than the stunt crew. There's so little plot that they throw in a dance scene and brawl that make no sense for the locals to put on at that stage of the tale, with nothing to celebrate and the BIG showdown looming between the hero and the cadre of crooks what been runnin' their town all mean and dirty.

Poor writing. Poor casting. Worse execution.
